The Mustangâ„¢ SVO was a limited -production version of the Ford® Mustang™™ sold from 1984 to 1986.During this time it was the fastest and expensive version of the Mustangâ„¢ available. In 1981 Ford® formed a division that could over see the company’s racing and limited edition, high performance street legal vehicles. This program was known as the special vehicle operations or S.V.O for short. In later years it became known as the Special Vehicle Team or S.V.T. for short. The turbo charged 2.3 liter inline four pushed out 175 h.p at 4400 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 3000 rpm. It has a standard 5-speed manual transmission. Ford® was looking for a fuel efficient high performance sports car that could compete with the European sports cars of the day and the Ford® Mustangâ„¢ SVO was born.
For the modeler – this is a fun kit to build with plenty of detail. The review points out an accurate finishing motif, construction sequence and needed preparation steps for a great looking model. The best part is that this kit can be shelf ready in a short time.

Wow, I had an ’84 Mustang a few years back and I loved it. This model sure brings back memories! The body style was very similar. Love that spoiler, and the color choice is fabulous! Great job on this model. Thanks for sharing all of your tips for putting it together.
Thanks Jess – Makes you want to click on the “Buy This Kit” link and order one up to finish off in that crazy purple doesn’t it? – righton
