In 1940, Ford made over 540,000 Coupes. Since then, this car has caught the attention of street rod builders because of the ease of modifications.  This Revell kit has incorporated a lot of good features such as a lowered suspension stance and a detailed modified flathead V8.

For the modeler; this kit is very clean, has very little flashing on the trees, and individual parts fit together quite well.  It requires a little bit of model assembly knowledge because it needs tools to clean the parts.  Glue is also required for assembly.  The parts are unpainted.  If you would like a colorful model, you will need to paint all of the un-chromed pieces.  The instruction sheet does a good job suggesting colors for painting, or you can go on your own as I have done on this build. I chose a basic flat black with red interior for an old time hot rod look.  I also put white walls on the tires to bring a little more appeal to the hot rod look.  I really like this model.  Revell did a very good job with instructions and molding.  I found it a joy to paint and assemble. Construction sequence variations for the cross-member, front suspension, exterior paint, exterior trim parts; cautionary notes for the exhaust and wheel assemblies; paint and detailing of the chassis, interior, and exterior; and instruction errors are all fully examined in this Step-by-Step review.
