They say the United States was built on transportation innovations. Part of that rich history includes the automobile, and specifically in racing. NASCAR is a big part of that with many different manufacturers participating over the decades but none made more of a dramatic impact than Chrysler in 1969. The “Big 3” were at war with each other to develop the fastest car one could purchase from a dealer and in that year Chrysler won big with the Dodge Daytona.

For the modeler:     The 2012 Revell Muscle release of this particular kit by Revell has a lot of detail that I will go into later but the first thing I noticed was the thickness of the plastic – it’s thick! This is a good thing in my mind, it makes for a more solid body that is less apt to twist or get damaged, especially in the windshield post area. It also gives the builder more material to work with when sanding parts so they fit better. Fortunately this isn’t all that necessary as the body parts fit together very well. Installing photo-etch parts; body preparation; part/sprue tree removal; detailing the air deflectors; heavy chrome corrections; fit technique for the interior panels; adhesive selection; hood display options; transmission fitment modifications; decal strategy and tire recommendations; are all fully examined in this 6 page full-color Step-by-Step review.
