Introduced mid-year in 1964, the Ford Mustang caused a sensation that continues today with a band of loyal followers.  The Mustang was something car buyers had never seen, a sports car for everyone!  At a base price of only $2,368, average car buyers could get behind the wheel.  The cost for the Mustang was the brainchild of Ford General Manager Lee Iacocca.  He knew buyers were looking for excitement that wasn’t too expensive.  In addition, the Mustang had a long list of options and could be tailored to the customer’s desire.  There were three body styles to choose from and a wide variety of engines and accessories.

For the modeler: This kit is very clean, has very little flashing on the trees, and individual parts fit together quite well.  It requires a little bit of model assembly knowledge because you need tools to clean the parts.  Glue is also required for assembly.  The parts are unpainted.  If you would like a colorful model, you will need to paint all of the non-chromed pieces.  The instruction sheet does a good job suggesting colors for painting, or you can go on your own as I have done on this build. A nice still needs some special details to get the most out of your build. Follow along as we discuss; interior, exterior and engine period correct color schemes; adjusting the exhaust for fit; tire/wheel assembly sequence; are all fully examined in this 7 page, full-color Step-by-Step review.
