Drag racers loved the ’57 Ford Custom because it was a simple no-frills car that was easy to modify. Its long body and low-slung chassis made it perfect for short straight-course races. The exceptionally light 2-door model came with a 245 horsepower V-8 – more than enough power to boost the ’57 to victory after victory. With racing slicks, the Custom could beat most cars of the day in straight drag.

 For the Modeler: The 1957 Ford kit was worth the wait.  This was one of the best kits that I have built in years.  Everything from the molding to chrome, clear parts etc. were perfect.  This was the fastest that a model has gone together for me in a long time.  I have to say that Revell really hit a home run with the 57 kit.  The only item that I feel that Revell could have done was to supply white wall tires instead of white wall decals. This is a Revell “Special Edition” 1957 Ford Custom 2 ‘n 1 Model Kit in 1/25^th scale. It can be built into a stock or drag version but is Revell skill level 3 kit for ages 12 and up. The kit includes 129 pieces molded in white, transparent red, and clear with chrome parts and soft rubber tires. This kit features drag racing slicks and suspension parts plus a separate frame member and bench style front seat.
