If you were a teenager [like me] in the late 80’s [early 90’s] you knew there was nothing cooler than a Black Firebird or Trans Am. By the time 1991 came around the current generation Firebird body style was almost ten years old and needed to be changed or at least updated. So to get the most speed out of every drop of gasoline, the engineers at GM designed a car with their most aerodynamic shape ever inspired by the Banshee show car. The 225 horsepower engine powering this “Formula” One racer allowed it to burn through a quarter mile (0.4 km) in less than 15 seconds. It didn’t take long for the beautiful ’92 Firebird to become a true dream ride.

For the Modeler: This is a skill level 2, 1:24 scale, Monogram Dream Rides series kit molded in white, clear and chrome plated pieces with soft vinyl tires. The kit features a detailed engine with Tuned-Port injection system, full interior detail, separate rear spoiler, with chrome plated details and decals with factory stock and custom graphics. Upon opening the kit, you immediately realize a few things; 1) this kit builds only as the Firebird Formula; 2) for  only 78 pieces this kit is fairly detailed. Lastly great news for all of us there is no flash to be found on this kit. The chrome and decals are well done also. This kit seems to be a reissue of kit #85-2952.
