In September of 1960, hot rod specialist Mickey Thompson achieved a world record speed of 406.6 mph in a piston powered car at Bonneville Salt Flats.  It stands today as one of the most outstanding achievements of this famous race car builder and driver.  Mickey also competed in drag racing, Indy Car and off-road racing.  He was a proven trendsetter in his time.

For the Modeler: This is the Revell Motor Sports Series Mickey Thompson Challenger I in 1/25 scale. It is a skill level 3 Model. It is molded in white plastic and contains 186 pieces. This kit (#85-5251) features four V-8 engines with transmissions, detailed tube chassis, removable body panels, rear parachute tube, four soft, black, unbranded Bonneville Speed tires and a fully painted Mickey Thompson miniature replica holding a helmet.  It also includes nice directions and waterslide decals.
