Who doesn’t remember cruisin’ the highways on vacation and performing a “double-take” when one of these little vans went by the “Family Truckster?”  They represented a certain freedom and adventure that “dear ‘ole dad” just didn’t buy into for his clan.  Volkswagen began production in early 1950 and there are still a few of these on the roads today, but the numbers are dwindling.  

Revell makes a trip down memory lane with this updated reissue of the 1958 kit and provides the option of building a ‘US’ or ‘European’ version of the bus.  The   European version was chosen to highlight the lights and bumper configuration over the US version, but artistic license was taken for the paint colors. 

This kit would make an awesome display for any modeler’s shelf and for those old timers that are “stuck in the sixties” it would give you something to gaze upon while you play those good old Grateful Dead records!
